Follow the example set by Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) & his companions by striving for simplicity rather than extravagance or luxury even if you have access to it .

This hadith is narrated by Abu Burdah bin Abi Musa who said that his father told him that if he saw them when they were with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and it was raining, he would think that their smell was like that of sheep. This hadith teaches us about the simplicity of the Prophet ﷺ and his companions as they wore woolen clothes which were simple yet comfortable in all weather conditions. When it rained, their clothes would become wet and give off a smell similar to sheep due to its material being made from wool. This shows us how humble they were in their lifestyle despite having access to more luxurious materials such as silk or cotton at the time. It also serves as an example for us to follow in our own lives; we should strive for simplicity rather than extravagance or luxury even if we have access to it because this will bring us closer to Allah SWT and His Messenger ﷺ .
