Sahih al-Bukhari 28 (Book 2, Hadith 21) #28
Feeding the Poor and Greeting People in Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that feeding the poor and greeting people are two important qualities of a good Muslim.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: A person asked Allah's Messenger ".What (sort of) deeds in or (what qualities of) Islam are good?" He replied, "To feed (the poor) and greet those whom you know and those whom you don't know".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abdullah bin 'Amr, teaches us about two important qualities of a good Muslim. The first is to feed the poor, which is known as At-Taqsiyyah in Arabic. This means to provide food for those who cannot afford it or do not have access to it. The second quality is Al-Salam, which means to greet people with kindness and respect regardless of whether you know them or not. These two qualities are essential for any person who wishes to live according to Islamic teachings and values.
