Living in the Present

SUMMARY: The Prophet (s.a.w) did not store anything for the future and taught us to live in the present.

Anas narrated: "The Prophet (s.a.w) would not store anything for the morrow".

QUICK LESSONS:
Live your life one day at a time without worrying too much about tomorrow's needs or wants; Make wise use of your resources; Put your trust in Allah alone; Be content with what you have today

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about living in the present and not storing anything for tomorrow. It was narrated by Anas that Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) would not store anything for the morrow, meaning he would live his life day by day without worrying about what will happen tomorrow or what he will need tomorrow, instead of saving things up for later use or planning too far ahead into the future. This teaches us to be content with what we have today and to trust that Allah will provide us with whatever we need when it is time, as He knows best our needs and wants better than anyone else does. We should also strive to make use of our resources wisely so that we can be prepared if something unexpected happens but at the same time, we should not worry too much about it either as Allah has promised to take care of us no matter what happens in life if we put our trust in Him alone.
