Beware of the Land of Fitan

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) warned people about the land of Fitan, which is located in the east, and is associated with Shaitan (Satan).

Ibn 'Umar narrated that the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) stood on the Minbar and said: "The land of Fitan is there" and he pointed to the east, meaning: "Where the sun rises from the horn of Shaitan" or he said: "The horn of the sun".
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ هَا هُنَا أَرْضُ الْفِتَنِ وَأَشَارَ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ جِذْلُ الشَّيْطَانِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ أَوْ قَالَ ‏"‏ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

The hadith narrated by Ibn 'Umar tells us that Prophet Muhammad stood on the Minbar and warned people about a place called Fitan, which is located in the east.
