Taking on Trials Beyond One's Capacity

SUMMARY: A believer should not take on a trial which he cannot bear.

It was narrated from Hudhaifah, that the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said: "It is not for the believer to humiliate himself". They said: "How does he humiliate himself?" He said: "By taking on a trial which he can not bear".

QUICK LESSONS:
Do not take on trials beyond your capacity
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Hudhaifah states that it is not befitting for a believer to humiliate himself. When asked how one can humiliate himself, the Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w) replied that it is done by taking on a trial which he cannot bear. This means that believers should not take on more than they can handle and should instead focus their efforts and energy into tasks they are capable of completing successfully without feeling overwhelmed or stressed out. It also teaches us to be mindful of our limitations and to accept them rather than trying to push ourselves beyond what we are able to do in order to avoid humiliation or failure.
