Respect for Property of Others

SUMMARY: It is wrong to take something that belongs to someone else without their permission.

'Abdullah bin As-Sa'ib bin Yazid narrated from his father, from his grandfather who said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Let one of you not take his brother's staff, neither in play nor seriousness. Whoever took his brother's staff, then let him return it to him"'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Ask for permission before taking anything belonging to someone else.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Abdullah bin As-Sa'ib bin Yazid from his father and grandfather states that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said not to take another person's staff without their permission. This means that it is important to respect the property of others and not take it without asking them first. Taking something from someone else without their permission is wrong and disrespectful. We should always ask for permission before taking something from someone else or using it in any way. This hadith also teaches us about the importance of respecting other people's belongings and property as well as being honest with each other in our dealings with one another.
