The Courage and Declaration of Truth of Prophet Muhammad (Saws)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (Saws) and his courage in the face of danger, as well as his declaration of truth.

Narrated Abu Ishaq: From Al-Bara' bin 'Azib who said: "A man said to us: 'Did you flee from the Messenger of Allah O Abu 'Umarah ?'" He said: "No, By Allah! I did not flee from the Messenger of Allah , but som hasty people fled and (the tribe of) Hawazin assaulted them with arrows. The Messenger of Allah (Saws) was on his white mule, and Abu Sufyan bin Al-Harith bin 'Abdul Muttalib was holding its reigns. The Messenger of Allah was saying: 'I am the Prophet without lie, I am the son of 'Abdul-Muttalib'." Abu 'Eisa said: There are narrations on this topic from 'Ali, and Ibn 'Umar.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا رَجُلٌ أَفَرَرْتُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ يَا أَبَا عُمَارَةَ قَالَ لاَ وَاللَّهِ مَا وَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ وَلَّى سَرَعَانُ النَّاسِ تَلَقَّتْهُمْ هَوَازِنُ بِالنَّبْلِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَلَى بَغْلَتِهِ وَأَبُو سُفْيَانَ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ آخِذٌ بِلِجَامِهَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ أَنَا النَّبِيُّ لاَ كَذِبْ أَنَا ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ ‏.‏ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the courage and truthfulness of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this hadith, we learn that when a group of people fled from a battle with the Hawazin tribe, they were met with arrows. Despite this danger, the Prophet ﷺ remained on his white mule and declared that he was indeed a prophet without lie. He also declared himself to be son of 'Abdul-Muttalib. This hadith teaches us that even in times of great danger or difficulty we should remain steadfast in our faith and trust in Allah SWT for protection. We should also strive to always speak truthfully no matter what situation we are faced with.
