Jami at-Tirmidhi 1416 (Book 16, Hadith 32) #26996
Dispute Resolution According to the Prophet

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a dispute between two men, where one man bit the other's hand and caused two of his incisors to fall out. The Prophet ruled that there was no blood-money for them, and Allah Most High revealed a verse in response.

Narrated 'Imran bin Husain: "A man bit the hand of another man. The man who was bitten pulled his hand out, causing two of his incisors (teeth) to fall out. They brought their case of the Prophet . So he said: "One of you bites his brother like the stallion bites? There is no blood-money for you'. So Allah Most High revealed: Wounds, equal for equal".

QUICK LESSONS:
Resolve disputes peacefully without resorting to violence or revengeful acts such as seeking blood money or retribution from those who have wronged us .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a dispute between two men, where one man bit the other's hand and caused two of his incisors to fall out. They brought their case before the Prophet for resolution. The Prophet ruled that there was no blood-money for them, as it was an act of aggression similar to how horses bite each other. In response, Allah Most High revealed a verse which stated that wounds should be equal for equal. This teaches us that disputes should be resolved peacefully without resorting to violence or revengeful acts such as seeking blood money or retribution from those who have wronged us. We must also remember that justice must be served equally regardless of who has committed an offence or been wronged by another person; everyone deserves fair treatment under the law regardless of their social status or wealth.
