Listening Before Judging

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised Ali to listen to both sides of a dispute before making a judgement.

'Ali narrated: "The Messenger of Allah said to me: 'When two men come to you seeking judgement, do not judge for the first until you have heard the statement of the other. Soon you will know how to judge'." 'Ali said: "I did not err since then".

QUICK LESSONS:
Listen carefully before judging disputes between two people.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Ali ibn Abi Talib is about the importance of listening before judging. This hadith teaches us that when two people come to us with a dispute, we should not make any judgement until we have heard both sides of the story. This is important because it allows us to make an informed decision and prevents us from making any hasty or biased judgements. It also shows respect for both parties involved in the dispute and gives them an equal opportunity to present their case. Furthermore, this hadith also serves as a reminder that we should always strive for justice and fairness in our decisions, no matter how difficult it may be.
