EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the recitations that Prophet Muhammad would recite during two important Islamic holidays - Al-Fitr and Al-Adha. These two holidays are celebrated by Muslims all over the world to commemorate different events in Islamic history. During these celebrations, it was customary for Prophet Muhammad to recite a specific verse from the Qur’an which was “Qaf By the Glorious Qur’an and the Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder”. This verse is a reminder to Muslims that they should be mindful of their actions as judgement day will come soon and they will be held accountable for their deeds on that day. It also serves as a reminder to stay humble in front of Allah's greatness as He can do anything He wills including splitting up the moon into two parts if He so desires.
