Sunan Abi Dawud 5020 (Book 43, Hadith 248) #25311
Interpreting Visions

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ advised to interpret visions and to tell it only to someone who loves or has judgment.

Narrated AbuRazin: The Prophet said: The vision flutters over a man as long as it is not interpreted , but when it is interpreted, it settles. And I think he said: Tell it only to one who loves (ie friend) or one who has judgment.

QUICK LESSONS:
Interpret your vision carefully and share it with people you trust and love as well as those with good judgement before making any decisions based on your dream/vision.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about interpreting visions. It was narrated by AbuRazin, who reported that the Prophet said that a vision flutters over a man until it is interpreted, but when it is interpreted, it settles. He also advised to tell the interpretation of the vision only to someone who loves or has judgment. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful in interpreting our dreams and visions and should not share them with just anyone as they can be misinterpreted or misunderstood. We should seek advice from people we trust and love, as well as those with good judgement before making any decisions based on our dreams or visions.
