Entrusting Children to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a woman entrusting her son to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and how he took care of him.

Narrated AbuUsamah: The tradition mentioned above (No. 4915) has also been transmitted by AbuUsamah in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. This version has: "With good fortune". She (Umm Ruman) entrusted me to them. They washed my head and redressed me. No one came to me suddenly except the Messenger of Allah in the forenoon. So they entrusted me to him.

QUICK LESSONS:
Trust in Allah's mercy , Be kind towards children , Take good care of your children .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of a woman, Umm Ruman, who entrusted her son to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). She was confident that he would take good care of him and so she left her son in his hands. The Prophet then washed his head and dressed him up. In the forenoon, no one came to see him except for the Messenger of Allah himself. He took great care of this child and showed kindness towards him. This hadith teaches us that we should always trust in Allah's mercy and entrust our children into His hands as He will take great care of them just like He did with Umm Ruman's son. We should also strive to be kind towards children as they are innocent beings who need love and protection from adults around them.
