Take marriage seriously, Get consent from both parties involved before entering into a marriage contract

This hadith is about the marriage of Aisha to the Prophet Muhammad when she was nine years old. At that time, it was common for girls to marry at a young age and this hadith shows us that even though it may have been common practice, it still required permission from both parties involved. The women in Medina prepared and decorated her before taking her to meet the Prophet Muhammad and he accepted her as his wife. This hadith teaches us that marriage should be taken seriously and should not be entered into lightly or without consent from both parties involved. It also teaches us that even though something may be socially acceptable, we must always make sure we are following Islamic teachings first and foremost.
