Sunan Abi Dawud 4893 (Book 43, Hadith 121) #25184
Caring for Fellow Muslims

SUMMARY: A Muslim should not wrong or abandon their fellow Muslims, and if they help them in need, Allah will reward them.

'Abd Allah b. Umar reported the prophet (May peace be upon him) as saying : A Muslim is a Muslim’s brother: he does not wrong him or abandon him. If anyone cares for his brother’s need, Allah will care for his need ; if anyone removes a Muslim’s anxiety, Allah will remove from him, on account of it, one of the anxieties of the Day of resurrection ; and if anyone conceals a Muslim’s fault, Allah will conceal his fault on the Day of resurrection.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of caring for fellow Muslims. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that a Muslim should never wrong or abandon another Muslim, and if they do help their brother in need, then Allah will reward them with His care and remove one of the anxieties of the Day of Resurrection from them. Furthermore, if a person conceals another's fault then Allah will conceal their own faults on the Day of Resurrection. This hadith teaches us to be kind to our fellow believers and to always look out for each other's needs as this is what pleases Allah ï·» most. It also reminds us that whatever good deeds we do in this life will be rewarded by Him on the Day of Judgment so we should strive to do as much good as possible while we are here on Earth.
