The Value of Association and Eating Habits

SUMMARY: Believers should only associate with other believers and should only share meals with those who are God-fearing.

Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri: The Prophet said: Associate only with a believer, and let only a God-fearing man eat your meals.
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ حَيْوَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ غَيْلاَنَ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ تُصَاحِبْ إِلاَّ مُؤْمِنًا وَلاَ يَأْكُلْ طَعَامَكَ إِلاَّ تَقِيٌّ
