The Unpleasantness of Taking Back Presents

SUMMARY: Taking back a present is not a good thing to do.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet said, "He who takes back his present is like him who swallows his vomit".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous when giving presents; accept presents with grace and humility; show gratitude for what you have been given; don't take back your presents.
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that taking back a present is not something that should be done. He compared it to someone who swallows their own vomit, which is an unpleasant and disgusting thing to do. This hadith teaches us the importance of being generous and giving gifts without expecting anything in return. It also teaches us the importance of being grateful for what we have been given, even if it may not be something we want or need. We should accept gifts with grace and humility, rather than feeling entitled to them or expecting more from the giver.
