Forgive others when possible instead of retaliating or seeking revenge .

This hadith encourages people to forgive and refrain from taking revenge. It was narrated by Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin, that the Prophet said that those who are disputing should not take retaliation. He also said that the one who is nearer should forgive first and then the one who is next to him, even if it were a woman. Abu Dawud added that forgiving by women in cases of murder is permissible if a woman were one of the heirs of the slain. The word yanhajizu means they should refrain from retaliation.
