Sahih al-Bukhari 2557 (Book 49, Hadith 39) #2446
Generosity and Kindness towards Servants

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught us to be generous and kind to our servants by allowing them to share meals with us or at least giving them a mouthful or two of the meal.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "When your servant brings your meals to you then if he does not let him sit and share the meals, then he should at least give him a mouthful or two mouthfuls of that meal or a meal or two meals, as he has prepared it".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous and kind towards your servants; Allow your servant to sit down and eat with you; Give your servant a portion of your meal; Respect all people regardless of their position in life.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we should be generous and kind to our servants. He said that when they bring meals for us, we should let them sit with us and share the meal, or at least give them a mouthful or two of the meal. This teaches us that even if someone is working for you, it does not mean you can treat them badly. We must always remember to treat people kindly no matter what their position is in life. This hadith also teaches us about generosity; even if we have little, it is important to share what we have with others who may need it more than ourselves.
