Sunan Abi Dawud 4140 (Book 34, Hadith 121) #24430
The Right Side Preference of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) liked to begin with the right side in all conditions, including purification and combing. He also liked to use a tooth-stick.

Narrated 'Aishah: The Messenger of Allah liked to begin with the right side as far as possible in all conditions: in his purification, and combing. The narrator Muslim added: "in using tooth-stick," and he did not mention "in all his conditions". Abu Dawud said: Shu'bah transmitted it from Mu'adh, but did not mention "his tooth-stick".

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Aishah tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) preferred to start with his right side in all conditions, such as when he was performing wudu or ablution for prayer, combing his hair, and even when using a tooth stick. This is an important lesson for us as Muslims because it teaches us that we should always strive to do things in the best way possible and follow the example of our beloved prophet. We should also remember that Allah loves those who are consistent in their good deeds and strive to do them perfectly.
