The Order of Putting On and Taking Off Sandals

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of putting on and taking off sandals in a particular order.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah as saying: When one of you puts on sandals, he should put on his right one first, and when he takes them off, he should take off the left one first ; so that the right one should be the first to be put on and the last to be taken off.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا انْتَعَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِالْيَمِينِ وَإِذَا نَزَعَ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِالشِّمَالِ لِتَكُنِ الْيَمِينُ أَوَّلَهُمَا يَنْتَعِلُ وَآخِرَهُمَا يَنْزِعُ

This hadith is about the importance of following an order when putting on and taking off sandals. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah, who was a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. According to this hadith, one should put on their right sandal first and take it off last, while doing the opposite for their left sandal. This teaches us that even in small matters like wearing shoes, we should be mindful of following an order or sequence as it can help us stay organized in our lives. It also teaches us to be mindful of our actions even when they seem insignificant as Allah has commanded us to do so.
