Spending on Dependents of Stingy People

SUMMARY: It is permissible to spend on the dependents of a stingy person without their permission, as long as it is done according to custom.

Narrated 'Aishah: Hind came to the Prophet and said: Messenger of Allah, Abu Sufyan is a stingy person. Is there any harm to me if I spend on his dependents from his property without his permission ? The Prophet replied: There is no harm to you if you spend according to the custom.

QUICK LESSONS:
Spend generously and kindly towards those who are less fortunate than you; Take into consideration customs and norms when helping others out financially or otherwise; Be considerate when spending money from someone else's property without their permission; Follow Islamic teachings regarding generosity and kindness towards others.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about spending on the dependents of a stingy person without their permission. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that it is permissible to do so, as long as it is done according to custom. This means that one should not spend more than what would be considered normal or customary in the society they live in. This hadith teaches us that we should be generous and kind towards those who are less fortunate than us, even if they are related to someone who may not be generous themselves. We should also take into consideration customs and norms when helping others out financially or otherwise.
