Respect graves by not sitting or standing upon them. Seek guidance from Allah when making decisions about how you interact with others including those who have passed away.

This hadith is narrated by Abu Hurairah and it talks about the importance of respecting graves. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that it is better for someone to sit on burning coals which will burn their clothing and come in contact with their skin than for them to sit on a grave.
