Sunan Abi Dawud 3207 (Book 21, Hadith 119) #23497
Respect for the Dead

SUMMARY: It is wrong to break the bones of a dead person, just as it would be wrong to break the bones of a living person.

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: The Messenger of Allah said: Breaking a dead man's bone is like breaking it when he is alive.

Show respect and kindness even after someone has passed away.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that we should show respect and kindness even after someone has passed away. We should not do anything that would hurt or disrespect them in any way, such as breaking their bones. Just like it would be wrong to break someone's bones when they are alive, it is also wrong to do so when they have passed away. This hadith reminds us that we should always treat people with respect and kindness no matter what their circumstances are. We should remember that everyone deserves our respect and compassion even after death.
