Sunan Abi Dawud 3181 (Book 21, Hadith 93) #23471
Walking Quickly with Funerals

SUMMARY: We should walk quickly with a funeral procession, as it is a good deed to send the deceased off in a good condition.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet as saying: Walk quickly with a funeral, for if the dead person was good it is a good condition to which you are sending him on, but it he was otherwise it is an evil of which you are riding yourselves.

QUICK LESSONS:
Walk quickly with funeral processions

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that when we attend funerals, we should walk quickly. This is because if the deceased was a good person, then walking quickly will be sending them off in a good condition. However, if they were not so righteous, then walking slowly would be an evil of which we are making ourselves guilty of. Therefore, it is important to always walk quickly with funerals and pay respect to the dead by doing so.

We can also learn from this hadith that our actions have consequences and that even small deeds can make us accountable for our actions on the Day of Judgment. It teaches us to always strive for righteousness and do what is right even in small matters such as attending funerals or other gatherings where respect needs to be shown towards others.
