Sunan Abi Dawud 2619 (Book 15, Hadith 143) #22910
Seeking Permission Before Taking Action

SUMMARY: When approaching someone else's animals, one should seek permission from the owner before taking any action.

Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub: The Prophet said: When one of you comes to the cattle, he should seek permission of their master if he is there; if he permits, he should milk (the animals) and drink. If he is not there, he should call three times. If he responds, he should seek his permission; otherwise, he may milk (the animals) and drink, but should not carry (with him).

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek Permission Before Taking Action

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about seeking permission before taking action. It teaches us that when we come across someone else's animals, we should always ask for their owner's permission first. We can do this by calling out to the owner three times and waiting for a response. If they give us their consent, then we can milk or drink from the animals but not take anything away with us without their approval. This hadith emphasizes the importance of respecting other people's property and being mindful of our actions when dealing with them. It also encourages us to be courteous and polite in our interactions with others so that everyone can benefit from it in a positive way.
