Spend time in prayer and contemplation at His House; Seek guidance from religious leaders; Fulfill obligations towards Allah; Fast during this period of spiritual retreat.

This hadith is about the virtue of i’tikaf, which is spending time in devotion near the Ka’bah. In this hadith, Umar took a vow to spend a night or day in devotion near the Ka’bah and asked Prophet Muhammad for advice on how to fulfill his vow.
