Be generous with those who are less fortunate than you; Help others in need whenever you can; Free captives if possible; Utter 'Allah is Most Great' often; Strive for Allah's pleasure

This hadith speaks about the importance of setting captives free. It is narrated by two companions of Prophet Muhammad, namely Abdullah ibn Umar and Abdullah ibn Budayl. The story goes that while Umar was observing i'tikaf in the sacred mosque, he heard people shouting "Allah is most great". He asked his companion, Abdullah what was happening and he told him that it was because the Messenger of Allah had set free some captives from Hawazin. This shows us how important it is to be generous with those who are less fortunate than us, especially when it comes to freeing those who have been taken captive or enslaved. We should always strive to help others in need whenever we can as this will bring us closer to Allah's pleasure.
