Sunan Abi Dawud 2449 (Book 14, Hadith 137) #22740
Fasting on the 13th, 14th and 15th of Each Month

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad commanded his followers to fast on the 13th, 14th and 15th of each month as it is equivalent to fasting perpetually.

Narrated Qatadah Ibn Malhan al-Qaysi: The Messenger of Allah used to command us to fast the days of the white (nights): thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth of the month. He said: This is like keeping perpetual fast.

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast on 13th , 14th & 15th day in a Month .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad taught his followers that fasting on the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth days of each month was equivalent to fasting perpetually. This means that if one were to fast these three days every month, it would be like they are constantly fasting throughout the year. This hadith encourages Muslims to take advantage of this opportunity for spiritual growth by dedicating these three days out of every month for worshiping Allah through prayer and reflection. It also serves as a reminder that even though we may not be able to fast all year round due to our daily obligations, we can still reap some of its benefits by dedicating just three days out of every month for this purpose.
