Fasting the Whole of Sha'ban

SUMMARY: The hadith is about fasting the whole of Sha'ban.

The tradition mentioned above has alos been transmitted by Abu Hurairah through a different chain of narrators to the same effect. This version adds: He would fast all but a little of Sha'ban, rather he used to fast the whole of Sha'ban.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ بِمَعْنَاهُ ‏.‏ زَادَ كَانَ يَصُومُهُ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً بَلْ كَانَ يَصُومُهُ كُلَّهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about fasting during the month of Sha’baan. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to fast all but a little of this month. He would fast the whole month instead. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to fast as much as possible during this blessed month and take advantage of its spiritual benefits. We should also remember that fasting is an act of worship and obedience to Allah Almighty and it brings us closer to Him.
