The Perpetual Fast

SUMMARY: Fasting for six days in Shawwal after Ramadan is equivalent to fasting perpetually.

Narrated Abu Ayyub: The Prophet as saying: If anyone fasts during Ramadan, then follows it with six days in Shawwal, it will be like a perpetual fast.

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast during Ramadan and follow it up with six days in Shawwall for perpetual reward from Allah.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that if a person fasts during the month of Ramadan and then follows it with six days of fasting in the month of Shawwal, it will be like they have fasted perpetually. This means that the reward for this act is equal to that of someone who has fasted continuously throughout their life. This hadith encourages Muslims to take advantage of the blessings and rewards associated with fasting during these two months as much as possible. It also teaches us about how Allah rewards those who strive hard in His path and how He multiplies our good deeds manifold.
