Sahih al-Bukhari 2373 (Book 42, Hadith 21) #2270
The Virtue of Hard Work

SUMMARY: It is better to work hard and earn money through honest means than to beg for it.

Narrated Az-Zubair bin Al 'Awwam: The Prophet said, "No doubt, one had better take a rope (and cut) and tie a bundle of wood and sell it whereby Allah will keep his face away (from Hell-fire) rather than ask others who may give him or not".

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive hard and put in effort in order to make your own living honestly without relying on others or begging for help .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the virtue of hard work and earning money through honest means. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that it is better for a person to take a rope, tie a bundle of wood, and sell it in order to make an honest living than to ask others for money who may or may not give him any. This hadith teaches us that we should strive hard and put in effort in order to make our own living instead of relying on others or begging for help. We should also be honest with our dealings so that we can be rewarded by Allah SWT both in this world and the hereafter.
