Sunan Abi Dawud 2405 (Book 14, Hadith 93) #22696
Accepting Differences During Ramadan

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that those who fasted during Ramadan should not criticize those who did not, and vice versa.

Narrated Anas : We travelled along with the Prophet during Ramadan. Some of us were fasting and other broke their fast. Those who fasted did not find fault with those who broke, and those who broke their fast did not find fault with those who fasted.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of acceptance and understanding during the holy month of Ramadan. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that those who fasted should not criticize or judge those who did not, and vice versa. He wanted to emphasize that everyone has different circumstances and abilities, so it is important to accept each other’s differences without judgement or criticism. This hadith teaches us to be tolerant of others’ beliefs and practices, even if they are different from our own. It also encourages us to show respect for each other’s choices without passing judgement or making assumptions about them.
