Sahih al-Bukhari 2369 (Book 42, Hadith 17) #2266
The Consequences of False Oaths and Withholding Superfluous Water

SUMMARY: Allah will not talk to or look at those who take false oaths, withhold superfluous water, and try to grab a Muslim's property.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "There are three types of people whom Allah will neither talk to, nor look at, on the Day of Resurrection. (They are): I A man who takes an oath falsely that he has been offered for his goods so much more than what he is given, -2. a man who takes a false oath after the 'Asr prayer in order to grab a Muslim's property, and -3. a man who withholds his superfluous water. Allah will say to him, "Today I will withhold My Grace from you as you withheld the superfluity of what you had not created".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest with your words and deeds; Give away extra resources if you have access; Do not try to grab someone else's property unjustly; Do not take a false oath after Asr prayer; Be generous with your resources if you have access; Treat others fairly and justly; Respect other people's rights over their property or belongings .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the consequences of taking false oaths and withholding superfluous water. Allah will neither talk to nor look at those who do these things on the Day of Resurrection. Taking a false oath means lying about something that has been offered for goods or services in order to get more than what was given. Withholding superfluous water means not giving away extra water that one has access to when it could be used by someone else in need. Both of these actions are considered wrong in Islam as they can lead to injustice and harm others. It is important for Muslims to be honest and generous with their resources so that they can receive Allah's grace on the Day of Judgment.
