QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful of your actions even when you're not doing something explicitly forbidden by Islam; strive to do what pleases Allah SWT; sniff water freely unless you're fasting .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Laqit ibn Saburah, teaches us that it is permissible to sniff water unless one is fasting. Sniffing water does not break the fast as long as no liquid enters the throat or stomach. This means that people who are fasting can still inhale and smell the scent of food or drink without breaking their fast. However, they should avoid drinking any liquids while they are fasting in order to maintain their fast and receive its rewards from Allah SWT.

The Prophet Muhammad SAW also taught us that we should be mindful of our actions even when we are not doing something explicitly forbidden by Islam. We should strive to do what pleases Allah SWT in all aspects of our lives and abstain from anything which may be considered questionable or doubtful in terms of Islamic law.
