Expressing Gratitude to Allah for Sustenance

SUMMARY: The Prophet of Allah used to thank Allah for providing him with sustenance when he broke his fast.

Narrated Mu'adh ibn Zuhrah: The Prophet of Allah used to say when he broke his fast: O Allah, for Thee I have fasted, and with Thy provision I have broken my fast.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ كَانَ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ قَالَ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ

This hadith highlights the importance of expressing gratitude to Allah for His provision and sustenance. It is narrated by Mu'adh ibn Zuhrah that the Prophet of Allah used to say a prayer when he broke his fast, thanking Him for providing him with food and sustenance. This teaches us that we should always be thankful and express our gratitude towards God, no matter what situation we are in or how much we have been blessed with. We should remember that all our blessings come from Him, so it is only right that we thank Him in return. Furthermore, this hadith also encourages us to practice fasting as a form of worship and devotion towards God.
