QUICK LESSONS:
Be respectful towards others in speech & action
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns us against the sin of listening to gossip and slander. It teaches us that even though we may not be the one speaking ill about someone else, just by listening to it we are committing a sin. This is because when we listen to such talk, it encourages the speaker and gives them an audience for their words. We should instead focus on being kind and respectful towards others in our speech as well as our actions.
