Sahih al-Bukhari 2317 (Book 40, Hadith 16) #2219
Sacrificing Animals According to Islamic Law

SUMMARY: The hadith is about how the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent animals for sacrifice with Aisha's father and made sure that nothing illegal was done until they were slaughtered.

Narrated 'Aisha: I twisted the garlands of the Hadis (ie animals for sacrifice) of Allah's Messenger with my own hands. Then Allah's Messenger put them around their necks with his own hands, and sent them with my father (to Mecca). Nothing legal was regarded illegal for Allah's Messenger till the animals were slaughtered.
