The Practice of Umrah and Hajj According to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the practice of the Prophet (ﷺ) in performing Umrah and Hajj.

Narrated Umar ibn al-Khattab: As-Subayy ibn Ma'bad said: I raised my voice in talbiyah for both of them (ie umrah and hajj). Thereupon Umar said: You were guided to the practice (sunnah) of your Prophet .
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، قَالَ قَالَ الصُّبَىُّ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ أَهْلَلْتُ بِهِمَا مَعًا ‏.‏ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ هُدِيتَ لِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the practice of the Prophet ﷺ when it comes to performing Umrah and Hajj. As-Subayy ibn Ma'bad was raising his voice in talbiyah for both pilgrimages when Umar said that he was guided by the practice of his prophet ﷺ. Talbiyah is a call for devotion to Allah Almighty which is done during both pilgrimages. It's important that we follow in our prophet's footsteps as much as possible so that we can be guided on our journey towards Allah Almighty. We should strive to learn more about what our beloved prophet did so that we can emulate him in all aspects of life.
