The Importance of Performing Hajj

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) encourages people to perform Hajj as soon as they can.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet said: He who intends to perform hajj should hasten to do so.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مِهْرَانَ أَبِي صَفْوَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَنْ أَرَادَ الْحَجَّ فَلْيَتَعَجَّلْ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of performing the pilgrimage to Makkah, known as Hajj. It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas, who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this hadith, the Prophet ﷺ encourages people to perform Hajj if they have an intention and are able to do so. He emphasizes that it is an obligation for those who are able and have made an intention for it. This hadith teaches us that we should prioritize fulfilling our religious obligations and not delay them unnecessarily. We should also be mindful of our intentions when performing any act of worship or good deed in order to gain maximum reward from Allah SWT.
