Sunan Abi Dawud 1333 (Book 5, Hadith 84) #21625
The Rewards of Reciting the Qur'an

SUMMARY: Reciting the Qur'an in a loud voice is like giving alms openly, while reciting it quietly is like giving alms secretly.

Narrated Uqbah ibn Amir al-Juhani: The Prophet said: One who recites the Qur'an in a loud voice is like one who gives alms openly; and one who recites the Qur'an quietly is one who gives alms secretly.

QUICK LESSONS:
Read aloud or quietly from the Qur’an with sincerity and devotion; give charity generously; have faith in Allah SWT; do not be ashamed of your religion or beliefs; spread knowledge about Islam through your actions and words; help others learn more about Islam by teaching them how to read from the Qur’an correctly.
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of reciting the Quran and encourages believers to do so. It also emphasizes that even if one reads it quietly, they will still be rewarded for their efforts. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ compared reading the Quran to giving charity, as both acts are done with good intentions and bring rewards from Allah SWT. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us that we should not be shy or embarrassed about our faith and should recite the Quran loudly when possible as it is an act of worship that can benefit others too.
