The Importance of Timely Prayer

SUMMARY: This hadith is about Abdullah ibn Busr, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who disliked the delay of the Imam in offering 'Id prayer and suggested that it should be offered at the time of forenoon.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Busr: Yazid ibn Khumayr ar-Rahbi said: Abdullah ibn Busr, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah came out along with the people on the day of the breaking of the fast or on the day of sacrifice (to offer the prayer). He disliked the delay of the imam, and said: We would finish (our 'Id prayer) at this moment, that is, at the time of forenoon.

QUICK LESSONS:
Offering prayers on time

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about how important it is to offer prayers on time. Abdullah ibn Busr was a companion of Prophet Muhammad PBUH and he came out with people on the day of breaking fast or sacrifice to offer prayer. He noticed that there was a delay in offering prayer and suggested that they should finish their 'Id prayer at forenoon, which is around mid-morning. This hadith teaches us to be punctual when it comes to offering prayers as Allah has commanded us to do so. We must make sure we are not late for our prayers as this shows our respect for Allah's commands and also helps us stay disciplined in life. It also teaches us that we must always strive for excellence in whatever we do, even if it's something as small as offering prayers on time.
