Prostrating During Prayer

SUMMARY: When attending a prayer, one should prostrate themselves and not count it as an extra rakah.

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah as saying; when you come to pray while we are prostrating ourselves, you must prostrate yourselves, and do not reckon it anything (rak’ah) he has been present at the prayer.

QUICK LESSONS:
Prostrate oneself when coming late for a prayer

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prostrating during prayer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when attending a prayer, one should prostrate themselves and not count it as an extra rakah. This means that if someone arrives late to the prayer, they should join in with the congregation without counting their own rakahs separately. It is important to follow this teaching so that everyone can pray together in unity and harmony. Additionally, this hadith teaches us to be mindful of our actions during prayers and to respect those around us by joining in with them instead of doing something different or separate from them.
