QUICK LESSONS:
Follow fair and just transactions that benefit all parties involved
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri and it talks about a certain type of trade which is forbidden in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ forbade the trading of ripe dates for dates still on the trees, known as 'Muzabana'. This type of trade was considered unfair and unjust as it would involve taking advantage of someone's need or desperation. The Prophet ﷺ also forbade another type of trading called 'Muhaqala', which was similar to 'Muzabana'. Both these trades were considered unethical and unjust according to Islamic teachings. Therefore, Muslims are advised to stay away from such practices and instead focus on fair and just transactions that benefit all parties involved.
