Sunan Abi Dawud 580 (Book 2, Hadith 190) #20871
The Importance of Praying on Time

SUMMARY: Praying at the right time is important and those who lead prayer will be rewarded, while those who delay prayer will be held responsible.

Narrated Uqbah ibn Amir: I heard the Messenger of Allah say: He who leads the people in prayer, and he does so at the right time, will receive, as well as those who are led (in prayer) will get (the reward). He who delays (prayer) from the appointed time will be responsible (for this delay) and not those who are led in prayer.

QUICK LESSONS:
Lead people in prayer on time
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of praying at the right time. It teaches us that when we lead others in prayer, we should do so at the appointed time and not delay it. Doing so will result in a reward for both ourselves and those whom we are leading in prayer. On the other hand, if we delay our prayers from its appointed time, then only we will be held responsible for this action and not those whom we are leading in prayer. This hadith also encourages us to take responsibility for our actions as well as to help others by leading them in their prayers on time.
