It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar and Sulayman the freed slave of Maymunah that they heard Prophet Muhammad say that it is not permissible to pray twice in one day. This means that Muslims should only pray once per day, no matter how many times they are called to prayer or how many prayers there are throughout the day. Praying once a day is an obligation for all Muslims and it is part of their daily routine as prescribed by Prophet Muhammad's teachings known as Sunnah.
