The Prohibition of Urging Someone to Return Goods

SUMMARY: It is not permissible to urge someone to return something they have already bought from another seller in order to buy your own goods.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Messenger said, "Do not urge somebody to return what he has already bought (ie in optional sale) from another seller so as to sell him your own goods".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of urging someone to return something they have already bought from another seller in order for them to buy your own goods. This hadith teaches us that it is wrong for us to try and manipulate people into buying our own goods by convincing them that what they have already purchased from another seller isn't good enough or isn't worth their money. We should instead focus on providing quality products or services so that people will be naturally inclined towards buying them without any manipulation or coercion. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us the importance of being honest with our customers as well as respecting their decisions even if we don't agree with them.
