QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest & accurate when conducting business transactions

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of honesty in business transactions. It is narrated by Salim, whose father saw people who used to buy foodstuff without measuring or weighing it during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ being punished if they sold it before carrying it to their own houses. This shows that accuracy and honesty are important values when conducting business transactions. People should not try to take advantage of others by selling them something for more than what they bought it for or by giving them less than what was agreed upon. Doing so will result in punishment from Allah ﷻ.

This hadith also teaches us that we should be careful with our dealings and not be careless with our measurements or weights when buying or selling goods as this could lead us astray from justice and fairness which are essential values in Islam. We must always strive to be honest and accurate in all our dealings so that we can earn Allah’s pleasure and reward on the Day of Judgment.
