Prohibiting the Use of Earthenware Jars

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) forbade the use of earthenware jars.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah SAW forbade Al-Hantam. I (the narrator) said: "What is Al-Hantam?" He said: "The earthenware jar".
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أُمَيَّةُ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ سُحَيْمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحَنْتَمِ قُلْتُ مَا الْحَنْتَمُ قَالَ الْجَرُّ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of using earthenware jars, as narrated by Ibn 'Umar. According to this hadith, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade using earthenware jars. When asked what Al-Hantam was, he replied that it was an earthenware jar. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful and careful when it comes to our actions and words, as even something seemingly small like using an earthenware jar can be prohibited in Islam. We should always strive to follow Islamic teachings and abide by its laws in order to gain Allah's pleasure and mercy.
