EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the unlawfulness of intoxicants. It was narrated by As-Sa'q bin Hazn that Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz wrote to 'Adiy bin Artah saying that every intoxicant is unlawful. This means that all forms of alcohol and drugs are prohibited in Islam as they can lead to harm and destruction. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said “Every intoxicant is Khamr and every Khamr is forbidden” which further emphasizes the prohibition of such substances in Islam. Muslims should strive to stay away from any form of intoxication as it can lead to many negative consequences such as addiction, health problems, financial issues etc.
