EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ practice of purchasing food grains from a Jew on credit and mortgaging his iron armor to him as payment for the debt. This hadith teaches us that it is permissible in Islam to purchase goods on credit, provided that one has the intention of paying back the debt in full and in a timely manner. It also teaches us that if we are unable to pay our debts, we should not be ashamed or embarrassed but rather seek out alternative methods of repayment such as mortgaging an item or offering services instead. Furthermore, this hadith serves as an example of how Muslims should conduct their financial affairs with honesty and integrity even when dealing with non-Muslims.
